Well, maybe

The Latin plural gerundive referenda, meaning things to be referred, necessarily connotes a plurality of issues. Oxford English Dictionary, Referendums is logically preferable as a plural form meaning ballots on one issue (as a Latin gerund, referendum has no plural).
